RAVO 5-Series
The RAVO 5-Series rests on strong basic concept. This can be expanded by a range of different options to suit your needs, allowing you to substantially increase the opportunities you have to use the machine.
The clear number one in the field of compact sweeping machines: the experiences of thousands users have been incorporated into the 5-Series machines, in combination with state-of-the-art technologies. This has resulted in machines that deliver impressive performances all over the world. Their power, comfort and ergonomics make them a joy to work with and their outstanding versatility and wide range of action mean they are powerful all-rounders with an attractively low total cost of ownership.
The 5-Series consists of three machines: the RAVO 530, the RAVO 540 and the RAVO 560. The RAVO 530 and RAVO 540 are adjusted for transport speeds from 25 up to 40 km/hour respectively.
The RAVO 560 is the series’ high-speed machine, with speeds from 60 km/hour; it has been approved and registered and can travel on motorways without restriction.
RAVO 5-Series
Third brush
Fitted to the front of the machine, the hydraulically adjustable third broom allows you to sweep the road and pavement at the same time. It is equipped with an additional guard and its own water-spraying facility, and can also be used as a weed cutter broom.
Camera system
A monitor in the cabin enables the driver to see what is happening behind the vehicle. This improves safetyduring manoeuvres. The monitor can be delivered in black and white or colour. A blind-spot version is also available. Camera can be mounted on the backside, side (L/R) or on the suction mouth.
Catch basin cleaner /heavy duty wander hose
This will substantially increase the opportunities you have to use the machine as a sludge gulping/leaf-suction installation. This is equipped with a nozzle, water system and spring-mounted swivelling arm (attached to the container allowing a 360° rotation).
Silent pack
A special stainless-steel exhaust silencer, which reduces the noise emitted by the machine. A useful option in shopping areas or for sweeping at night. The EURO 4 and TIER 3 engine supplies its power at low revolutions. This ensures that the noise level in the cabin remains below 80 dB in all situations, and the driver does not require any hearing protection.
Hp water pump
A high-pressure water pump with a 50-cm spray gun and 10- metre hose on a selfwinding reel. The pump can supply 15 litres a minute at a maximum pressure of 150 bar.
Air suspended seat
It means a compressed air suspension Full Adjustment operator seat with backrest adjustable to any need.
ABS
A much sought-after option for the RAVO 5-Series is ABS (Anti-lock braking systems), based on tested 4S4M proportional technology. The system has been specially developed for RAVO, and adjusts fully to all road and weather conditions, making it a safe option.
Other options
Every RAVO is a custom made machine and therefore in addition to above mentioned options we also offer you a wide selection of other options, for instance:
- double tyres (which distribute the wheel pressure over the road surface);
- warning stripes on the rear cover (to improve visibility for vehicles behind the sweeper);
- heated exterior mirrors (for good visibility in all weather conditions);
- plunger pump (allows you to fill up with water from areas of open water);
- automatic lubrication (which reduces your servicing costs);
- rotating and flashing lights (to stand out and be seen);
- and working lights (which increase the oppertunities for using the machine -even working in the dark is possible).

The pleasure of a comfortable working place with excellent visibility
The RAVO 5-Series offers ergonomics and comfort of the highest level. A height adjustable steering column provides an optimal seating postition for the operator who also enjoys the benefits of low noise levels and an efficient ventilation system which provides clean fresh air in the cabin. Visibility is guaranteed by a panoramic view through large non-reflective windows that offer all-round visibility and an angled floor window for an excellent view of the brush equipment. A glovebox, a huge storage compartment in the middle of the cab and a fold-away table offer the driver a lots of storage possibilities for papers, lunchboxes and tools. The overhead roof panel has two three-din slots that can accommodate an audio installation, onboard computer or mc. The modern instrument panel provides all necessary information, well within reach of the driver.
Manoeuvrability
The design of the front axle and the short wheelbase make the RAVO 5-Series very maneuverable. This helps the driver to follow every curve and to reach difficult spots.
Maintenance friendly
The 5-Series sweeper is easy to maintain. The maintenance free brush system is unique in its class and tested under the heaviest circumstances. Parts that need to be maintained have been fitted in an accessible way not to lose any time during check ups and repairs. The suction tube, for example, can be accessed via a hatch in the cabin for inspection. This eliminates the need to tip the container.
Payload and compaction
The low empty weight, robust construction, large stainless steel hopper and excellent compaction rate has resulted in a compact machine with the payload of more then 5 ton. The effective fan system sucks the debris from the working area through the suction nozzle and stainless-steel suction tube in the hopper where the waste is heavily compressed against the rear door. This system results in a best in its class compaction rate ensuring a capacity big enough for a full day’s work.
Safety
The RAVO 5-Series complies with all statutory regulations and wide range of ec directives. The machines have been grantedwith a ce certificate by a notified body. But for RAVO safety also means dominating the entire jobsite with all-round visibility and complete control of all machine functions. Combined with dynamic stability which is guaranteed by perfect weight distribution on the axles and the hydro-pneumatic suspension on the front axle.
Robustness (chassis)
The 4-mm-thick solid corten steel used for the construction of the machine’s chassis is anticorrosive, and ensures a high degree of torsion rigidity. The incorporation of the tanks for diesel, water and hydro oil into the chassis gives the machine a low centre of gravity, resulting in high stability. The powerful engine and robust construction enable you to use RAVO’s 5-Series in every situation. The machines deliver impressive performances every day, all over the world, in all conditions no matter how rough these are.
Brush system
Maintenance-free brush unit, the brush system is based on anextremely sturdy steel triangular frame. Ball joints in the hinge points offer great flexibility in positioning the brushes, which are consequently always correctly set for optimum sweeping. All parts of the brush unitare easy accessible, easy to dismantle and greasing is no longer required. Optimum position the parallel arms allow the brushes to follow the profile of the area that needs to be cleaned more precisely; they also ensure that the suction nozzle is always parallel with the surface. The pressure of the brushes need a one time adjustment and then the pressure is constant for the whole period. As a result, the RAVO 5-Series’ maintenance-free brush unit offers much more effective road sweeping. The constant ideal adjustment to the surface results in increased sweeping efficiency, thereby greatly reducing the rate of wear. In addition to this a wide range of options is available, for example: independent brushlifting, remote gutter broom angle adjustment, wide sweeping, and last but not least a third brush for weed cutting and to reach those difficult places which are normally out of range.

Ease of operation
The positioning, operation and indication of the various switches and joysticks ensure an easy and logical operating of the sweeper. RAVO understands that different drivers work in different ways and therefore most functions have a programmed memory. The operating computer remembers settings of different drivers so no valuable time is lost with frequent changes of drivers. The well organized dashboard offers a good interface with the driver. Also positions are free for additional switches, and various options. This all is putting operators in the ideal conditions to express all their talent and improves productivity.
